WE CAN JOB DESCRIPTIONS

The Position you are applying for is: Academic Instructor Employment at the WE CAN foundation’s After School Tutoring Program is Part-time and Seasonal and based upon the length of the school year. The school years for different districts vary but LAUSD usually starts the first week of September and continues to the end of May. This free tutorial service is sponsored by the Federal - No Child Left Behind Program.

Students in grades K-12 are tutored in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Each student receives 30 free hours of services, with sessions typically held in the student’s home or at their local library. Bilingual tutors (Spanish) are especially encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a commitment to fostering academic excellence in youth, ability to communicate with individuals from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds, and a sincere desire to make a positive contribution for the improvement of our society.

Minimum requirements:

- 2 Years of College

- Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines and manage complex records and documents.

- TB clearance

- Live Scan clearance

You must have reliable transportation, a valid California’s driver’s license and current auto insurance. This position also requires you to be computer literate and have internet access Attendance at eight (8) hours of WE CAN Academic Instructor Orientation and Training for WE CAN Quality in Service Certification.
